Hey there, my name is Brittney, I’m a self-taught freelance photographer based in London, ON and I've been photographing my life / the events I go to since 2010.
I specialize in natural light photography to capture fashion moments, urban spaces, and live art.
I’m inspired by local events, independent business and people who work hard and I'm always ready to work new creative projects.
More about my professional background:
I bought my first Nikon D5000 in 2010 and began by taking pictures of live music performances and interviews for London Calling, a Canadian music web series I worked on as a PA and Video Editor. Most proud moments include photographing interviews feat. Bahamas, Zeus, D-sisive, the Arcade Fire, and live performances by Broken Social Scene, Bedouin Soundclash, and the Handsome Furs.
From 2010-2015 I spent most of my free time building a photo-portfolio of local shows, Q&As, vendor events and party people at various venues such as Call The Office, The Loft (unofficial), & APKLive in London.
I took a hiatus on the "hobby" after accepting a full time position as a video editor in the summer of 2015, and focused the majority of my photography efforts on delivering package photos for the Motown Party and No Scrubs Dance Party, while dabbling in the realm of portraits, and street fashion for my FT employer at the time.
The hiatus is over and I’m back, now equipped with a Canon Rebel T6i and diving into the world of marketable photography including fashion and still life products / interiors.
My photo-collaborations with Soft Flirt (London, ON) for their line of printed t's and home decor is a reference to the fashion photography I’m beginning to get a taste for.
